NPP Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter Inducts New Executives With Eye On 2028

Ghana’s diaspora politics is already warming up two years ahead of the next general election, with the party’s North Texas branch pledging to mobilise for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The Dallas-Fort Worth branch of the New Patriotic Party in the United States (NPP-USA) has sworn in a new set of officers, setting an early marker for diaspora mobilisation ahead of Ghana's 2028 general election.

The ceremony took place on October 25, 2026 in Dallas, Texas, and was attended by invited guests, chapter members and other Ghanaians living in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Daily Guide Network reports.

Dr. Stella Green, described as an elder of the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter, administered the oath of office. She urged the incoming officers to stay true to the party's values and to serve the Ghanaian community in North Texas honestly.

What the new leadership says it will do

The newly elected chapter chairman, Mr. Kliphord Darkwah, thanked members for the trust placed in the executive team and set out three priorities: growing membership, deepening community engagement, and backing the party's national programme going into the 2028 election cycle.

"Our mandate is clear: to work together to ensure that Dr. Bawumia and the NPP win the 2028 polls in Ghana," Mr. Darkwah said, adding that the chapter also wants to act as "a bridge between our members and the homeland." He said the executives would operate on transparency, inclusivity and hard work.

The chapter's stated goal is to campaign for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President, to become Ghana's next President.

Why a Dallas chapter matters

The NPP, one of Ghana's two dominant political parties, maintains branches across North America and Europe. These external chapters cannot vote in Ghanaian elections as a bloc from abroad in the way constituencies do at home, but they raise funds, organise events, and keep Ghanaians overseas connected to party activity back home.

The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex hosts a sizeable Ghanaian community, and the chapter has long been one of the organising points in North Texas for what the party calls the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition, the political lineage the NPP traces itself to.

According to the chapter's own description, it promotes the party's philosophy of a property-owning democracy and supports Ghana's socio-economic development, while also serving as a social and cultural meeting point for Ghanaians in the area.

What happens next

The inauguration closed with appeals for unity and joint action so the branch stays influential within the party's North American structures.

For Ghanaians following events from the United States, the induction is an early sign that party organising for 2028 has begun in the diaspora, even though Ghana's next presidential and parliamentary elections are still about two years away and the NPP has not yet concluded its internal processes for choosing a flagbearer for that contest.
