The November show at UPSA Auditorium puts pioneers like Fritz Baffour and Tommy Annan-Forson on the same stage as today’s biggest comedy names.
Comedian Lekzy DeComic is bringing together four generations of Ghanaian comedians for a single night in Accra.
The show, called Lekzy Unleashed: The Godfather Edition, takes place on Friday, 7 November 2026 at the auditorium of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). MyJoyOnline reported the announcement.
Lekzy DeComic, a two-time Comedian of the Year, will host the night himself.
Who is on the bill
The line-up mixes veterans with the current crop. It includes Kweku Sintim-Misa, popularly known as KSM, Fritz Baffour, Tommy Annan-Forson, Clemento Suarez, DKB, Foster Romanus, Jeneral Ntatia, Kwaku Manu and Khemikal.
Also billed are Mr Beautiful, David Oscar Dogbe, Parrot Mouth, Percy Obrempong, James Brown and Jeffery Nortey. South African comedian Chris Mapane joins as the international act.
Rapper Okyeame Kwame, known as the Rap Doctor, will provide the music for the evening.
Why the veterans matter
The "Godfather" framing is not decoration. Fritz Baffour and Tommy Annan-Forson started stand-up comedy in Ghana in 1986, at a point when few people believed a person could earn a living from making others laugh. Baffour is credited with opening up prime time comedy in the country.
Annan-Forson's story is tied to state broadcasting. He was the first person to laugh on air at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), the state-owned broadcaster, and was queried for it. He then took his humour to the stage instead.
KSM, for his part, built a reputation as one of Ghana's sharpest satirists, filling the National Theatre for 13 sold-out nights.
Both Baffour and Annan-Forson have also supported younger comedians over the years, which is part of the reason a show of this kind can put them on the same stage as performers who grew up watching them.
