Titus Glover Wins NPP National Organiser Race, Promises Party Unity

The former Tema East MP polled 2,964 votes in Kumasi and says his first job is to calm tensions inside the NPP ahead of 2028.

Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover is the new National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), after beating two rivals at the party's National Delegates Conference in Kumasi.

The vote took place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Mr Glover polled 2,964 votes. His closest challenger, Ali Maiga Halidu, got 2,231, while Emmanuel Korsi Bodja finished with 145.

What the job involves

The National Organiser is one of the most demanding roles in a Ghanaian political party. The office handles grassroots mobilisation, the state of the party's branches and constituency structures, and the groundwork that feeds into campaign season. For the NPP, which is rebuilding after losing power, that work starts now rather than in the final year before the polls.

Mr Glover, in his victory speech reported by Ghanaian Times, framed his approach around internal cohesion rather than campaign logistics.

"I will work very hard. What I'll bring is peace, unity, respect, and that we use for governance," he told delegates.

He argued that a divided party cannot organise itself properly, saying that without peace, unity and respect, "the work will be hard."

Tied to Bawumia's 2028 bid

Mr Glover was direct about the political target. He said the party's shared goal is to put its flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in the presidency.

"Dr Bawumia has to become the President of this country," he said, describing it as the vision the party must work for.

Dr Bawumia, who served as Vice-President, was confirmed as the NPP's leader at the same conference. The alignment between the new organiser and the flagbearer matters, because in past election cycles friction between party headquarters and a candidate's campaign team has cost both sides time and money.

Mr Glover also acknowledged the scale of what the incoming executives have taken on. "The job is big. There's a lot of work ahead of us," he said, calling on members to stay together now that the internal contest is settled.

The wider slate

The organiser race was one of several decided at the Kumasi conference. John Boadu was elected National Chairman, Hawa Koomson won the National Women's Organiser position, and Abanga Fuseini Yakubu was declared National Youth Organiser.

Together, the new executives are expected to lead the NPP's reorganisation and tighten its structures before the 2028 general elections.

Why it matters abroad

For Ghanaians in the United States who follow party politics from a distance, the organiser's office is often the point of contact for external branches. Diaspora chapters raise funds, mobilise voters through family networks at home, and host visiting party figures. Who holds the role shapes how, and how often, those branches are engaged over the next two years.
