The collision happened on Saturday, September 26, 2026, on the Kpetoe-Sarakope stretch of the highway. It involved a Hyundai H100 bus carrying 12 passengers and a Ford tractor with two people on board. Both vehicles were heading in the same direction, from Kpetoe towards Aflao.
Firefighters freed all 14 occupants
The Ghanaian Times reports that firefighters from the Kpetoe Fire Station, under the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the state agency responsible for fire fighting and rescue work, got to the scene quickly and freed all 14 people who were trapped in the two vehicles.
The injured were handed over to the National Ambulance Service and the Ghana Police Service, who moved them to the Ho Teaching Hospital, the main referral hospital serving the Volta Region.
